Community education is the cornerstone of our work– and with so much at stake, now is a critical time to talk to supporters about how they can get involved in our fight.

Death By Delivery Screening
Friday, September 28, 2018/8:00 pm - 6:04 amHampton, VA

It’s the same reason you don’t worry about polio, scurvy, or malaria — these are all, supposedly, medical traumas that only affect women without access to modern healthcare. Yet, as documentarian Nelufar Hedayat discovered, maternal mortality rates are higher today than they were in 1987 and even higher for Black women. This documentary takes a more in depth look at why Black maternal mortality rates are higher than other racial group in the United States and what systematic changes can be made to help combat these staggering statistics.

Join NARAL Pro-Choice VA and Planned Parenthood Advocates of VA for a screening of “Death By Delivery”. Following the screening we will have a brief discussion about this issue and how we can help raise awareness around Black Maternal Health.

This event is FREE and light refreshments will be provided!

Positive Presence at Falls Church Healthcare Center
Saturday, October 20, 2018/8:00 am - 11:00 amFalls Church Healthcare Center

Join us for our monthly “Pro-Choice Positive Presence” in support of the patients, doctors and staff at Falls Church Healthcare Center. We’ll stand outside the clinic, where the FCHC staff and escorts can see us, and be a supportive, positive presence to counter the negativity of anti-choice protesters. We will *not* be counter-protesting or engaging with anti-choicers, but rather focusing on uplifting the people accessing and delivering reproductive healthcare services.
